American Pro Apx 300 Manual
Hi the problem with Yamaha is as they make so much stuff, older item manuals and service info gets deleted from their database and to be honest recently the parts and customer service on older gear is not good.I don`t know if this is because the people that work for Yamaha now are new (in gear terms) but it seems that the older gear is a hassle to them. I have quite a lot of old manuals and service stuff but i am looking for info on a RA200-R combo amp (the Dave Gilmour one).If anyone can help that would be great and i would also pass on the stuff i have to anyone that needs it. Hi Mal, Welcome to the Forums! I would agree that parts and service for older gear is getting worse, many parts were 'one off' designs and parts supplies have become depleted, some issues I think are due to newer employees that were not around when the older gear was new and are completely unfamilar with it, most of the employees that were there back in the day are long gone. However, I disagree with you about manuals (at least the ones I have looked for), while combo amp manuals may be hard to come by, I cannot think of a synth owner's manual from 1983 forward that is not on the Yamaha manual download page, I have also not had any problem finding owner manuals for mixing boards, speaker cabinets, midi devices, etc. Dating back to at least the mid '80s.
Based on my experience I quite frankly find Yamaha's owner manual database to be stellar when compared to some other manufacturers. Service manuals are a different story, they have always been hard to come by and I'm not sure if that will ever change. Clyde, thanks for the reply.I see you are in the US.In the UK,Yamaha are a different beast, but do you have any other sources for Yamaha parts and info other than the main site?Classic corner used to be goog but it seems to have disappeared. I have many Yamaha keyboards and racks and it`s difficult to find anyone who is either familiar or can be bothered with the older stuff.DX1/KX88/CP80 & TX816 as just a small example. Here other manufacturers seem OK if at least not slightly better, but i suppose it is a matter of what you are after. Does the forum have any members who are experts on the various product manufacturers?

Taito type x download. All of my parts dealings have been with YamahaUS, I have found that it is much better to inquire about parts via phone than to deal with website ordering (a couple of years ago I was able to special order updated ROMs for my SY77, they had to come from Japan). I don't know if they will ship outside the US, but they have had a pretty good in stock sucess ratio. My experience with RolandUS was the absolute worst, it was a service issue on a brand new synth. I've never needed any parts from Roland because after my service issues with them I gradually sold all of my Roland gear and replaced it with more Yamaha gear, that should tell you something. I have very rarely needed any service on my Yamaha gear, they replaced one small board in one of my DX7IIFDs under warranty, everything else has been routine maintainence like internal batteries and disk drive belts. I will have some new experience shortly as my remaining DX7IIFD had some slight water damage and we are going to repair it back to pristine condition. I think Classic Corner has disappeared from all of the Yamaha sites, the owner's manual downloads are all contained on the main Yamaha Global site.
You can Google for Yamaha parts, there are a few independent vendors, but they seem to be pricey and have a limited selection.
