Delta 3 Wheel Bandsaw Manual

The Three Wheeler bandsaw blade is a special blade for 2 or 3 wheel tabletop bandsaw. Blade breakage and poor blade performance are common problems with these small saws. These problems are caused by the extreme flexing of the blade caused by the small size of the wheels that the blade runs on and the high speeds normally used.

I was at a local charity flea market and spotted this GIANT 3 wheel bandsaw [8)]and since I need a BS and it was only $98 with no blade, I bought it. It powered up and was nice and quiet. I removed the wheels and lubed and cleaned it. [B)]Then I went on the web and discovered WHY it had no blade, it seems the blade life is very short, measured in single digit hours. Does anyone have one of these and can you recommned a few blades, 82' very thin.014'.022' I found a matching JET blade on Ebay and its on its way, but I want to get a stouter one to attempt (I expect the worse) resawing.

Sure LOOKS cool though! Just wildly guessing here. I imagine that to get 16' of clearance the three wheels is necessary. Then, with only an 82' blade, the wheels are probably only, what, 6' dia?

If that's the case, then tha's why the blade life is short - you are wrapping them around a small radius and working them hard. Do they break at the weld? If so, you might be able to weld your own and repair them. You'd have to trim off a small amount and re-weld. But you could do it several times before the blade became too short to use. I don't know what a welding arrangement costs - might just be a fixture and a propane torch.

Look into it? Got a picture, curious to see this beast? OK, here's a manual with picture on the cover.

Most 3-wheelers are cheesy handyman-grade saws. Blades break often on them as well and they aren’t much good for thicker work. They sometimes have tracking problems as well, throwing blades easily. The INCA 3-wheeler is a notable exception.

That’s a good machine. I’d get a 2-wheel saw over a 3-wheel in general. Over the years however a few small American manufacturers have turned out 3-wheel saws that are probably a lot better than the Chintzy table-top machines with small wheels. I’ve seen a few with no names and 24 or 30” throats. I was told one was for cutting aluminum sheets. I know this topic is old.

But instead of starting a new topic I thought I would put what I know here. I own the 28-560. Paid 50 Bucks + 60 bucks for 4 blades + 35 bucks for new belts + 30 bucks for ceramic thrust bearings for a total cost of $175. If is performs then yes. The max blade thickness recommended by the manufacture is.020. Timber Wolf blades are min thickness of.025”.

The max blade width recommended is 3/8” I purchased a.025”x1/2” 3 tpi. I installed the blade and it tacks and fits fine.

I have also resawed a few boards and it is AMAZING the difference. I can resaw a board at the rate of about 1ft/min where I was only able to do about.1ft/minute. In addition the cut is smoother and cupping has been eliminated. I will post about blade life or problems if/when I encounter them. Weth -- Weth. Hello everyone, I am new to this site, and I have a question about the Delta 78-560. Where can I buy new tires for it?

Also, when I received it from my girlfriends grandfather, it came with a single 1/8” wide blade. It has a tendency to be thrown off the tires frequently. There was quite a bit of sawdust in the machine, which I cleaned out, so it must have worked well for him. It’s in perfect condition.

I ordered a 1/4” blade hoping that it might cure the blade from being thrown. This is the blade I ordered. Hello everyone, I am new to this site, and I have a question about the Delta 78-560.
