Ipkg Install Gcc Qnap

Hi, In order to install software and add-on to some software, I need to install and compile code for QNAP TS-251 4.2 However, it seems that many packages are not installed with the default installation. Fender cyber twin patch settings. I tried to type in apt-get install Package. But apt-get is not recognized. From the research that I done on the web, it seems that there was a package called Optware that from what I understood install all the basic development tools. This brings me to the following questions: 1- Is apt-get install the right way to install package on QNAP? If yes, how can I setup QNAP to use apt-get, if not what whill be the right tool to use. 2- Which package should I installed in order to get the development tools ( make, gcc, etc.) 3- How can I fix the PATH variable.

I tried to add the missing PATH in.bashrc but it did not seem to work. Thanks for helping.
