Mp5 Car Stereo Software Installation Danlod
I bought a Chinese DVD GPS head unit for my car running Windows CE 6.0. The unit has every feature under the sun and works remarkably well, much better than I had thought it would. There are 2 main things which annoys me. The first is the media player playing music (SD or USB). There is no random/shuffle function, and when you have thousands of songs and it takes 2 - 3 seconds to skip to the next one, it gets annoying really quick!
The second is also related to the media player. It plays a very limited number of video formats (avi, 3gp). I figure the easiest way is to replace the media player with a better one (which I'm sure exists for CE 6). So my question is can this be done? If so where do I start? How can I access CE operating system/firmware on the unit? Miomap 3.3 pna rapidshare: software free download. It has a USB port, but that acts as a host so you can plug flash drives and dongles into it.
Has anyone played with these types of devices? Any help would be appreciated. Quote: Originally Posted by puunda I bought a Chinese DVD GPS head unit for my car running Windows CE 6.0. Most people do so using herefore Resume: You have to find out by yourself whether an SD-Autorun feature is implemented, and if then how, this because this differs from OEM to OEM. Update: It's a long story, but I'll give the short version. I found out MioPocket which was supposed to turn my WCE GPS device into a fully functional unit. Well it broke my WCE. Luckily my unit seems to have 2 units in it. 1 is the radio/dvd/bt/sd/usb etc, and the other is a WCE unit for the GPS.
The actual radio still worked fine, but the WCE wouldn't load. After a few days talking with the supplier in China, he sent me the recovery files. I put the recover file into the SD card and it flashed the WCE and it's back to normal. So I'm not going to touch it anymore.
Because even if I was able to get a CE media player working, the system doesn't actually use CE to play music. So I'll just have to live with my built in media player without random/shuffle function.
