Ga-k8nf-9-ta Targa Edition

I have a rare cpu it was built into my targa oem system. Its a newcastle core, and very little info is on the web. Has anyone overclocked one of these? My main problem is the targa edition motherboard it has been restricted, so only slight increases can be made to it.

Its now over twelve months old and I am looking to upgrade some of the system full detail of the main system The motherboard will go without a doubt as its too restricted. Primary baptism program I will be looking at a good new main board Ausus have been my favourites in the past. Processor AMD Athlon64™ 3400+ with HyperTransport, 512KB L2 cache, Socket 939, EKL super silent cooler (copper/ aluminium technology) Software XP Home Edition Service Pack 2 OEM Version* Motherboard Gigabyte GA-K8NF-9-TA (Targa Edition) nForce4 Chipset PCI Express 1x PCIE (16x) 250 GByte Western Digital ® with 7.200 rpm, 8 MB cache, SATA connection, fluid bearing Graphics nVidia® Geforce 6645 Targa HighSpeed Edition (NV43) with Silent Pipe. 128 MB, Direct X9, Double Monitoring, PCI Express, Analog Out and DVI-I out, YUV component out, S-Video and composite out Power supply 300 Watt Fortron Source PFC I know the power supply is on the low side and I am waiting for the new nividia next gen gpu due out in the next two months as it will fullysupport direct x ver 10.

Hi all thanks for the welcome You are right about it sounding like an add. Its not my ebay add though I did borrow the sale line for my post, I suppose thats when I realised it was a rare OEM CPU I couldnt find a reference for it on toms hardware, I put a search in on ebay and a couple have sold over the last two weeeks. Cpu-z reports it as a Newcastle core 0.13um.

AKAI S2000 (Software version 1.30) AKAI S3000XL. ARTHUR MARTIN AW 3085 TA ARTHUR. ATLANTIC FRANCO-BELGE IDRA 3000 version VMC ATLANTIC. GIGABYTE GA-K8NF-9 GLENAN. TARGA LT 3220 (LT3220).

If it bottoms out at 2500mhz then it may well be my next ebay add. So without burning a vast hole in my pocket which CPU up to £220 cuts the mustard at the moment a good stock overclocker. Or are dual cores the way to go or just selling hype? I use my gear for some AV work as well as Doom3 unreal etc, Dual core may come in useful for the AV work! I ve not self buit for a couple of years but did a couple of hundred years ago as a side line in uni.

I had a laptop for 18 months and this targa system for the last 13 months at the time I couldnt buy the oem parts with trade dicount for what the lidle targa system was selling. Some strange bits with this system note the highbred nivida card as well 6645. For the price at the time £799 no monitor it was a bargain with it spec another selling point was the system used a standard size ATX board. So upgrade was possible as I wouldnt touch the majority of pre built brand systems. Just if your woundering the full spec out the box was as the following url just in case you wounderd why I purchased a branded pre built pc instead of building again from scratch. Anyway Ive looked at the diamond msi board it looks the dogs'' I just need a cpu to sit in the hot seat.

Sorry if I upset the cart just couldnt be ars?? Copying the full spec out just as easy to click the link plus my system can only be purchaesd when lidle have a special on so it no real threat to this site income, This site looked well informed thats why I Joined. Anyway if I wanted to sell anything I would post it on Ebay or my own flyfishing site 'graylinghunter.' My PIan I am going for the 3800 dual as advised, I am not sure if my rams up to the job though. I have some swissbit 3200 1gb via 2 512s and 1gb via 2 512 3200 pgi it may not oc to well but only the new mobo when installed with give me that test result. I am quite handy with engineering devices so i may construct a gas cooled CPU/gpu and niv 4 bridge chip rig not sure yet what bits to adapt but I wil lget there I need to read up on a few thing first and pick your brains.

This motherboard I use at the moment is a drag it will ony use twin bank memory. Latest post on the g80 10 april says its not out anytime soon and that g70 71 gpus will be used in the next gen with direct x 10 bolted on. Anyways as for the GPU upgrade I can wait a month or two before I purchase. I may end up with a 7900 if the next gen does not show its self in the next two months although I would like my rig to be fully vista proof.
